Blake Bortles Drafted by Jacksonville Jaguars

May 9, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - Former University of Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles is heading to the National Football League - and he's staying in Florida.

The Oviedo native was selected third by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of Thursday night’s draft. He was the first quarterback selected in the 2014 draft. 

Bortles led Central Florida’s football program to a 12 and 1 season last year and a win in the Fiesta Bowl.

He passed for over thirty-five hundred yards and nine touchdowns his last season at Central Florida.

The 2014 season begins in September.  ​
