Orlando Won't Bid for DNC in 2016


June 3rd, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando- Orlando city leaders won't bid to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention after all.

A spokeswoman for the city says the timing isn't good.

The 2016 Democratic National Convention is scheduled for July or August.

It's a popular time for tourists, and Orlando leaders expect a shortage of hotel rooms.

Orlando was among the cities the Democratic Party was considering.

City leaders say they hope Orlando will be considered again in the future.
