All Quiet in Atlantic Basin as Christina Roils Pacific

June 13th, 2014 | WUFT, Orlando- The Florida Public Radio Emergency Network reports no tropical activity yet in the Atlantic Hurricane season.

Meanwhile Hurricane Cristina dramatically strengthened Thursday in the Pacific to become a powerful Category 4 storm by late afternoon but poses no threat to land.

Here in the Atlantic basin, no tropical storm formation is expected in the next five days.

Forecasters say models are still very conflicted on what might happen thereafter in the western Caribbean, so they will be watching future forecast trends closely.
