Planned Parenthood in Kissimmee Hit with Temporary Injunction

July 25th, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando- A planned-parenthood clinic which opened in Kissimmee this month has been told by a court it can't perform some of the services it offers- including surgical abortions.

Planned Parenthood opened its clinic at Oak Commons Medical Park in Kissimmee on July 10th.

According to court documents, the medical park is subject to community restrictions which prevent properties in the park from being used for outpatient surgery or diagnostic imaging including sonograms.

The plaintiff is MMB properties, one of the other tenants in the medical park.

In an order handed down this week a circuit court judge granted MMB’s motion for a temporary injunction.

For now, Planned Parenthood won’t be allowed to carry out surgical abortions, or sonograms at the Kissimmee clinic.

In a statement, Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando CEO Jenna Tosh said she is disappointed by the ruling and plans to appeal.
