Last Day to Register for Primary Voting July 28, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando -- Today is the last day to register for Florida's August 26 primary election. A signed form must be postmarked or dropped off at any supervisor of elections office by closing time. 90.7 Political Commentator Lou Frey says having a say in the primary is worth the effort to register. "When you look at the races, there’s, you know, governors and senators involved and attorney generals," he says. "[These are] people who will have an important role in Florida’s future." Today is also the last day to change party affiliation before August 26. That matters because Florida is a closed-primary state, so, for instance, only Democrats will pick that party’s gubernatorial nominee. Independents can still vote in nonpartisan races. Most Central Florida elections offices are open until 5. |
