New Name for Orlando Magic's Home Court

The Orlando Magic was expected to announce Thursday the arena which everyone used to know as the "T-D Waterhouse Centre" will now be called "Amway Arena." Amway was co-founded by the owner of the Orlando Magic, Rich DeVos. There are reports Amway will pay the city $1.5 million over the next four years, but there's no word on what, if anything, Amway will pay the team. 90.7's David Pitman recently spoke with Dr. Bill Sutton, the Associate Director of the DeVos Sports Management Program at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Sutton has written extensively about the practice of selling stadium naming rights here in Orlando and across the nation.
