Click here to listen to Part 1 The Orlando Ballet School presents a Silver Anniversary Gala Saturday night at the Bob Carr, marking the school's 25th year. It features many "star" graduates who have gone on to careers in dance, including Chris Fleming, Megan Searfos Furse, and Joseph Gatti. School director Peter Stark talks about the event and the success of the school which now has 4 locations, including one at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.
THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS - The Bach Festival Chorus & Orchestra perform Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm at Rollins College's Knowles Chapel Icons and Idols is an exhibit by photographer Jack Mitchell at the Museum of Florida Art in DeLand. Mitchell photographed major figures in dance and American culture for over 40 years. Menopause the Musical is closing next week, at the Plaza Theatre, after a 6-year run in its hometown of Orlando. However, it contues to be performed around the world. The show also spawned a foundation offering grants to women over 40; the next application deadline is Friday, May 4. The 5th Annual Orlando Cabaret Festival is at Mad Cow Theatre, with over 40 shows in 18 days by local artists, and headliners from the New York cabaret scene. Central Florida Folk presents multi-instrumentalist Harvey Reid in concert, Sunday at 3 at Leu Gardens.

New Smyrna Beach artist Bryce Hammond will be a part of 2 group exhibitions opening in May - the first opens May 4th at the Trinity Gallery in Atlanta, and the second, opening May 10, is at the Infusion Gallery in Los Angeles. We hear about his graffiti-influenced paintings from a 2004 interview.
