OC Launches Labor Day DUI Crackdown September 4, 2007 -- Central Florida is following the national trend of an increase in deaths blamed on drunk driving. The Orange County Sheriff's Office began "Operation Labor Day Crackdown Wave" with a multi-agency DUI checkpoint along West Colonial Drive in front of the Central Florida Fairgrounds. 90.7's David Pitman spoke with Deputy Sheriff Claude Leslie about the need for those checkpoints, and their effectiveness.
