UCF Med School Reaches Full Scholarship Goal (May 1, 2008) -- The UCF College of Medicine this week met its goal of raising nearly $6.5 million to provide scholarships covering tuition, room, and board to its inaugural class of 40 students in the fall of 2009. Those students will each save an average of about $140,000 in loans and other debt they won't have to pay back once they earn their MDs. And that kind of student debt is a major focus of the American Medical Student Association. 90.7's David Pitman spoke with association president Dr. Michael Ehlert, who said no other med school is doing what UCF is.
