Monday, 5/12 The Orlando Cabaret Festival continues tomorrow at Noon with HEAR MY SONG - the music of Jason Robert Brown, and Wednesday at Noon with ANYTHING GOES the music of Cole Porter. The Cabaret Festival closes on Sunday at Mad Cow Theatre in downtown Orlando. This is the last week to see an exhibit Harold Garde it’s at the Lake Eustis Museum of Art thru Sunday JUSTICE ILLUMINATED the art of illustrator Arthur Szyk is at the Holocaust Memorial Resource Center in Maitland and there’s an Opening Reception tomorrow night for 2 exhibits at the Comma Gallery in Orlando. Tuesday, 5/13 The Enzian Theatre’s Cult Classic series continues tonight with the 30th anniversary screening of THE LAST WALTZ, called one of the best rock concert movies ever made. There’s just 1 showing tonight at 9:30. Also at the Enzian this week is YOUNG AT HEART. You can also enjoy giant screen films at the Orlando Science Center the Dr. Philips Cinedome is the world's largest Iwerks domed theater. Tomorrow you can see HURRICANE ON THE BAYOU, filmed in New Orleans, and THE ALPS. SHOW US YOUR SHORTS a student film festival is tomorrow night at 7 at the Southeast Museum of Photography in Daytona and there’s an Opening Reception tomorrow night for an art exhibit by students at Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach. The exhibit runs thru the end of the month at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum
Wednesday, 5/14 Michael Andrew is performing this weekend at the Orlando Cabaret Festival. He has shows tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. There are also lunchtime cabaret shows celebrating the music of Irving Berlin on Thursday and Richard Rodgers on Friday at Noon. Tomorrow is 3rd Thursday Orlando’s downtown art gallery walk. Art Galleries in downtown Orlando. One of the art shows opening is the Florida Music Festival Rock Walk art inspired by music. Mickey Carroll’s Unity in the Community Festival is Saturday and Sunday in Mount Dora; singer/songwriter Carroll will perform along with several local bands. The festival’s headliner is Firefall, who will play Saturday night beginning at 5 The Family Series edition of Orlando Ballet’s SLEEPING BEAUTY is Saturday morning at 11 it’s designed for children ages 3-9 and lasts under an hour. Starting at 10am, children can experience a behind-the-scenes look at Orlando Ballet in the lobby of the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre. www.orlandofringe.org and the Art Studio of Lake Mary School of Art will have a Reception and Award Ceremony for its annual Art Exhibit, tomorrow from 11 AM to 3 PM. The concert is Sunday at 3 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Orlando Seminole Community College presents a Russian song and dance troupe from Orenburg State University in Siberia. It’s Sunday afternoon at 4 at the Lake Mary campus and organist Glen Osborne will give a concert tomorrow at 4 at St. James Cathedral in downtown Orlando.
