The Orange County Regional History Center continues its artists and author’s series hosting Ian Stewart, author of Ambushed: A War Reporter's Life on the Line, tomorrow from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. For reservations call 407-836-8580.

And check out the creations of the digital Master Artists-in-Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach. The Pabst Visitor Center and Gallery is free and open to the public so visit atlanticcenterforthearts.org for more information.

Tuesday August 12th

Hi. I’m Secily Wilson, here’s a look at your local arts scene this week with your Arts Connection Minute for Tuesday August 12th.

“The Cows Keep Coming to Comma: More Bovine Art”, kicks off tonight at the Comma Gallery in downtown Orlando at 6:30 p.m. with the Second Tuesday Artist Reception. Visit commagallery.com for more information.

And tonight you can dance with the smash hit “Mamma Mia” opening at The Carr Performing Arts Centre at 8 p.m. The show is only in town this weekend so visit broadwayacrossamerica.com for your tickets.

Wednesday August 13th

Tonight is the Orlando Opera’s Bohemian Happy Hour at The Beacon in downtown Orlando from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Join this group of young professionals interested in the arts, socializing, networking and just having a good time! Visit myspace.com/operabohemians for more information.

And visit Beakman’s World on Tour at the Orlando Science Center for this fun filled interactive exhibit where families can search for aliens or even travel inside the human body. Visit osc.org for more information.

Thursday August 14th

Today at 3:30 The Atlantic Center for the Arts presents the digital arts: Master Artists-in-Residence at Full Sail University for an illustrated talk and Q & A session. For more information on this event call 407-679-0100.

And Saturday August 16th The Orlando Repertory Theatre welcome’s Broadway star, Connie Kunkle for the 2008 Orlando Repertory Theatre’s Annual Benefit Concert.  The wine and hors d’oeuvres reception starts at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 7 p.m. Visit orlandorep.com for your tickets.

Friday August 15th

Hi. I’m Secily Wilson, here’s a look at your local arts scene this week with your Arts Connection Minute for Friday August 15th.

Tonight live up these “summer nights” with, Grease, now at The Osceola Center for the Arts in Kissimmee. This is the last weekend to catch Danny, Sandy and the crew so visit ocfta.com for more information.

And Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. the Crealde School of Art  features the next generation of artists with over 300 pieces of artwork on display through September 13th. All the art has been created by students from Kindergarten to 8th Grade during the school’s summer ArtCamp. Call 407-671-1886 for more information.
