Thousands Rally in Orlando To Say "No More Cuts" To Education March 2, 2009 State lawmakers will begin their regular spring session tomorrow in Tallahassee. At the top of the priority list is how to fill another multi-billion dollar budget gap. Republican State Senate Mike Haridopolos says lawmakers will try to do their best to avoid further cuts to education. But Florida's teachers' union says it's time for the state to get serious about finding new ways to pay for schools, or we could face an education crisis. Over the weekend, about 6,000 teachers, parents, and students from 50 districts across Florida came to a rally in Orlando to demand more money for education. 90.7's David Pitman was also there.
