Former Magic Player Compares NBA Final Hype Then, and Now June 4, 2009 Tonight, the Orlando Magic will play the first game of its first NBA final series since 1995. We wanted to know what it was like to be a part of the team that made it to the finals back then, so we invited Nick Anderson to our studios. Right now, Anderson is a community ambassador for the Magic. But back in the mid-90's, he was the team's shooting guard. Anderson says touring with the Magic in those years, especially with Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway on the team, was like being part of a rock band. 90.7's David Pitman asked Anderson if he thinks the hype surrounding the Magic was greater back then, or now.
