Panhandle Braces for Tropical Storm Ida

Ida weakened to a tropical storm this morning, and forecasters expect the system to weaken further before it makes landfall along the northern Gulf Coast, possibly as early as tomorrow morning. Storm warnings remain in effect along 200 miles of the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle into Louisiana. Florida Governor Charlie Crist has declared a state of emergency for the entire state because of the threat from Ida.
