LaFontaine E. Oliver
President and General Manager
LaFontaine E. Oliver joined WMFE 90.7 News as President & General Manager in May 2013. Prior to joining WMFE Oliver served as the General Manager of WEAA-FM in Baltimore, MD for seven years where he successfully increased station funding, listenership and community engagement. He worked in commercial radio as well for more than a decade for companies such as Radio One and XM Satellite Radio. LaFontaine has launched numerous national programs successfully and headed initiatives aimed at increasing service to underserved audiences.
LaFontaine is a native of Washington, DC where he served in a variety of community and broadcast organizations prior to locating to Central Florida. Statewide he serves as a member of the Florida Public Broadcasting Service Board. Nationally he serves on the board of Eastern Region Public Media (ERPM) as Vice Chair.
LaFontaine holds a MBA from the University of Baltimore and a BA in Business Administration from the University of Miami. He has taught broadcast and communications courses at the university level and has served as a consultant on numerous commercial and public media projects.
He is the father of two and resides in Avalon Park with his wife, Denise.
